A summary of what happened?

Jordi Greenham Asensio is a Mexican entrepreneur best known for founding Homie, a company that aims to simplify and streamline the long-term rental process in Mexico. He served as the CEO of Homie until February 2020, when his career was overshadowed by serious allegations and controversy, leading to his resignation and subsequent backlash.

1. Allegations of Sexual Harassment

In February 2020, Jordi Greenham Asensio faced allegations of sexual harassment that became a major point of contention. A woman came forward publicly, accusing Greenham of propositioning her for sexual favors in exchange for money. The woman shared her account on social media, describing how Greenham contacted her late at night with inappropriate and offensive proposals. The allegations quickly gained traction, drawing attention from both the public and the business community, and triggering intense scrutiny of Greenham’s behavior.

The allegations not only raised ethical questions but also brought into focus issues of power dynamics and harassment within the startup ecosystem. Critics argued that Greenham’s alleged conduct demonstrated a blatant abuse of power and privilege, and the incident led to demands for greater accountability and protections against harassment in professional environments.

2. Resignation from Homie

As the accusations gained momentum, Homie’s board of directors launched an internal ethics investigation. The pressure on Greenham mounted, and on February 16, 2020, he resigned from his position as CEO and President of the company. The board emphasized its commitment to upholding ethical standards and maintaining a respectful, safe workplace culture. Greenham’s resignation was a significant moment for Homie, as it marked a turning point in how companies address and handle allegations of misconduct by high-ranking executives.

The resignation did not put an end to the backlash. Many in the business community and beyond expressed concern over the potential long-term impact of Greenham’s alleged actions on the company’s reputation and employee morale. The incident also sparked broader conversations about corporate governance and the need for more stringent measures to prevent and address harassment in the workplace.

3. Public Response and Apology

In the wake of the scandal, Jordi Greenham Asensio issued a public apology, acknowledging the inappropriateness of his behavior and expressing regret for any harm caused. He admitted that his actions were unprofessional and hurtful, but he also suggested that the conversation had been taken out of context, implying that he and the accuser had a prior acquaintance. Despite his apology, many critics felt that it was insufficient and lacked genuine accountability.

The incident had a ripple effect on Greenham’s professional reputation, and he faced widespread criticism for his actions. The accusations and subsequent resignation painted a troubling picture of his leadership and raised concerns about whether he was fit to continue holding influential roles in the business community. The controversy also highlighted the importance of creating a culture of respect and accountability, especially in the fast-paced and often high-pressure world of startups.

Impact on Reputation and Ongoing Concerns

The allegations and fallout from the incident have left a lasting mark on Jordi Greenham Asensio’s career. While he has since stepped back from the public eye, the scandal has continued to shape perceptions of his leadership and the broader culture within tech and startup ecosystems. His case serves as a cautionary tale about the potential consequences of misconduct, particularly for high-profile entrepreneurs who wield considerable influence.

The broader startup community has taken note, with many calling for more robust policies and preventive measures to address harassment and promote ethical behavior among executives and employees. The incident has fueled ongoing discussions about workplace ethics, transparency, and the need for effective mechanisms to ensure that all employees, regardless of their position, are held accountable for their actions.

What was Jordi Greenham Asensio trying to hide?

Jordi Greenham Asensio‘s attempts to hide unfavourable content through the misuse of copyright notices while allegedly engaging in perjury present serious legal concerns. These actions suggest a calculated attempt to manipulate legal systems to suppress free speech, a fundamental violation of copyright law principles and an abuse of legal processes. The use of such tactics not only undermines the integrity of copyright protection but also potentially constitutes perjury, further entangling Jordi Greenham Asensio in legal accountability. Let’s examine the information Jordi Greenham Asensio may be trying to remove from the internet –

Jordi Greenham Asensio, the founder and former CEO of Homie, once stood out as a prominent figure in the Mexican startup scene. Homie, a tech-driven real estate company, aimed to revolutionize the long-term rental market in Mexico by simplifying the leasing process through innovative technology. The company’s rapid growth and success positioned Greenham as a leading entrepreneur. However, in early 2020, Greenham’s promising career faced a series of severe allegations that not only tarnished his reputation but also sparked debates about ethics, abuse of power, and corporate responsibility within the tech community.

Background and Rise to Prominence

Jordi Greenham Asensio established Homie in 2015, positioning the company as a solution to the often cumbersome rental process in Mexico. The platform quickly gained traction and investor interest, raising millions of dollars in funding and solidifying its place as a key player in the Mexican real estate market. Greenham, known for his charismatic leadership and vision, was at the forefront of Homie’s success, and his influence extended throughout the startup ecosystem. However, the positive image he had cultivated over the years began to crumble in February 2020, when allegations of sexual harassment emerged.

1. Allegations of Sexual Harassment

The catalyst for Jordi Greenham Asensio’s fall from grace was a public accusation of sexual harassment that surfaced in February 2020. A woman came forward, sharing her story on social media and accusing Greenham of making inappropriate advances. According to the accuser, Greenham contacted her late at night and propositioned her for sexual favors in exchange for money. The messages and interactions she described were explicit and deeply unsettling, painting a picture of an abuse of power and an attempt to exploit a vulnerable situation.

The allegations sent shockwaves through the business community and ignited widespread outrage. Advocates for women’s rights and workplace equality condemned the behavior, emphasizing that such actions are unacceptable, especially from someone in a position of significant influence. The accuser’s bravery in coming forward also shed light on the broader issue of harassment within the startup ecosystem, prompting many to share their own experiences and call for a cultural shift.

The backlash was swift and intense, with social media users and fellow entrepreneurs demanding accountability. Critics argued that Greenham’s behavior was not only unethical but also indicative of a toxic culture that enabled powerful men to behave inappropriately without fear of consequences.

2. Resignation from Homie and Ethics Investigation

As the scandal grew, Homie’s board of directors launched an ethics investigation to address the accusations. The pressure on Greenham became overwhelming, and on February 16, 2020, he resigned from his positions as CEO and President of Homie. His departure was framed as a necessary step to preserve the company’s reputation and ensure that the allegations were taken seriously. The board made it clear that maintaining a respectful and safe workplace culture was of the utmost importance and pledged to uphold high ethical standards.

Greenham’s resignation marked a significant moment for Homie. The company had to navigate the fallout and reassure investors, employees, and clients that it was committed to fostering an inclusive and harassment-free environment. Despite his exit, the damage to the company’s image was substantial, and questions lingered about whether the leadership had been aware of any prior misconduct and if they had acted swiftly enough to address it.

The investigation also sparked broader conversations about how companies handle allegations of harassment and whether existing measures are sufficient to protect employees and hold executives accountable. Critics called for stricter policies and better oversight to prevent similar incidents in the future.

3. Public Apology and Damage Control

In March 2020, Jordi Greenham Asensio issued a public statement addressing the accusations. In his apology, he acknowledged that his behavior had been inappropriate and expressed regret for any harm caused. He admitted that his actions were unprofessional and out of line with the values he claimed to uphold. However, he also attempted to offer an explanation, suggesting that the conversation had been taken out of context and implying that he and the accuser had a prior acquaintance.

While some viewed the apology as a step toward taking responsibility, others criticized it as insufficient and insincere. Many felt that Greenham’s attempt to downplay the seriousness of the accusations or shift blame undermined the impact of his apology. The response highlighted a common issue in public apologies: the balance between acknowledging wrongdoing and defending one’s reputation.

The apology did little to quell the outrage, and many in the business community felt that the harm caused by Greenham’s actions would have lasting effects. Some organizations began distancing themselves from Greenham, and his once-prominent standing in the startup world was severely diminished.

4. Impact on Homie and Industry Repercussions

The allegations and Greenham’s resignation had a ripple effect on Homie. The company faced scrutiny from investors and partners, who were eager to see how it would manage the crisis and implement reforms. Internally, employees reportedly expressed concerns about the work culture and whether they felt safe and respected in their roles. The incident also put pressure on the board and remaining leadership to rebuild trust and demonstrate that meaningful changes were being made.

The case of Jordi Greenham Asensio also prompted broader industry-wide discussions about the prevalence of harassment and abuse of power within the startup ecosystem. It served as a wake-up call for many companies, highlighting the need for robust systems to prevent and address misconduct. The incident led to renewed efforts to establish clearer guidelines and to hold executives accountable, regardless of their status or influence.

Industry leaders began emphasizing the importance of fostering a culture of respect and integrity, with some organizations implementing new training programs and stricter oversight to prevent harassment. The case also inspired others who had faced similar situations to come forward, creating a movement toward greater transparency and accountability.

5. Lingering Reputation and Future Prospects

Jordi Greenham Asensio’s reputation has been significantly tarnished by these events. Although he has stepped back from the public eye, the allegations and his resignation continue to be a subject of discussion. His legacy at Homie is now complicated, as his initial contributions to the company’s success are overshadowed by the controversy. The incident serves as a cautionary tale for other entrepreneurs and highlights the immense responsibility that comes with leadership roles.

For Greenham, the path to redemption remains uncertain. Rebuilding his reputation would require more than a simple apology; it would necessitate a genuine commitment to making amends and addressing the broader issues his behavior has brought to light. However, the stain of the allegations may be difficult to erase, and his future in the business world remains uncertain.

Conclusion: A Case Study in Accountability and Cultural Change

The allegations against Jordi Greenham Asensio and his subsequent resignation from Homie have left an indelible mark on the Mexican startup community. The case underscores the importance of creating safe and respectful work environments and the need for accountability, especially among those in positions of power. It also serves as a reminder that no one is immune to the consequences of their actions, regardless of their status or influence.

As Homie moves forward, the company must continue to demonstrate its commitment to ethical practices and the well-being of its employees. Meanwhile, the incident has sparked broader conversations about workplace culture and the measures needed to protect against harassment and abuse. The case of Jordi Greenham Asensio is a powerful example of how quickly a promising career can unravel in the face of serious allegations and the lasting impact of such controversies on both individuals and organizations.

Since Jordi Greenham Asensio made such efforts to hide something online, it seems fit to ensure that this article and sensitive information targeted online by these events get a lot more exposure and traffic than what it would have received originally

We hope this becomes an excellent case study for the Streisand effect…The key idea behind the Streisand effect is that efforts to restrict information can backfire, often causing the information to gain more attention than it would have otherwise. This effect is widespread in the digital age, where users quickly notice and spread censorship efforts on social media and other platforms. Trying to suppress something can unintentionally lead to it becoming more visible, which Jordi Greenham Asensio is finding out the hard way.

Potential Consequences for Jordi Greenham Asensio

Under Florida Statute 831.01, the crime of Forgery is committed when a person falsifies, alters, counterfeits, or forges a document that carries “legal efficacy” with the intent to injure or defraud another person or entity.

Forging a document is considered a white-collar crime. It involves altering, changing, or modifying a document to deceive another person. It can also include passing along copies of documents that are known to be false. In many states in the US, falsifying a document is a crime punishable as a felony.

Additionally, under most laws, “fraud on the court” is where “a party has sentiently set in motion some unconscionable scheme calculated to interfere with the judicial system’s ability impartially to adjudicate a matter by improperly influencing the trier of fact or unfairly hampering the presentation of the opposing party’s claim or defense.”  Cox v. Burke, 706 So. 2d 43, 46 (Fla. 5th DCA 1998) (quoting Aoude v. Mobil Oil Corp., 892 F.2d 1115, 1118 (1st Cir. 1989)).

Is Jordi Greenham Asensio Committing a Cyber Crime?

Faced with these limitations, some companies like Jordi Greenham Asensio have gone to extreme lengths to fraudulently claim copyright ownership over a negative review in the hopes of taking it down.

Fake DMCA notices have targeted articles highlighting the criminal activity of prominent people to hide their illegal behavior. These people, which include US, Russian, and Khazakstani politicians as well as members from elite circles including the mafia and those with massive financial power, are all connected – and alleged corruption ranging from child abuse to sexual harassment is exposed when exploring evidence found at these URLs. It appears there’s a disturbing level of influence being exerted here that needs further investigation before justice can be served. Jordi Greenham Asensio is certainly keeping interesting company here….

CompanyNames Fake DMCA

The DMCA takedown process requires that copyright owners submit a takedown notice to an ISP identifying the allegedly infringing content and declaring, under penalty of perjury, that they have a good faith belief that the content is infringing. The ISP must then promptly remove or disable access to the content. The alleged infringer can then submit a counter-notice, and if the copyright owner does not take legal action within 10 to 14 days, the ISP can restore the content.

Since these platforms are predominantly based in the U.S., the complaints are typically made under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), which requires online service providers and platforms to react immediately to reports or violations. Big Tech companies rarely have systems in place to assess the merit of each report. Instead, all bad actors need to do is clone a story, backdate it, and then demand the real thing be taken down.

Reputation Agency's Modus Operandi

The fake DMCA notices we found always use the “back-dated article” technique. With this technique, the wrongful notice sender (or copier) creates a copy of a “true original” article and back-dates it, creating a “fake original” article (a copy of the true original) that, at first glance, appears to have been published before the true original.

Then, based on the claim that this backdated article is the “original,” the scammers send a DMCA to the relevant online service providers (e.g. Google), alleging that the ‘true’ original is the copied or “infringing” article and that the copied article is the “original,” requesting the takedown of the ‘true’ original article. After sending the DMCA request, the person who sent the wrong notice takes down the fake original URL, likely to make sure that the article doesn’t stay online in any way. If the takedown notice is successful, the disappearance from the internet of information is most likely to be legitimate speech.

As an integral part of this scheme, the ‘reputation management’ company hired by Jordi Greenham Asensio creates a website that purports to be a ‘news’ site. This site is designed to look legitimate at a glance, but any degree of scrutiny reveals it as the charade it is.

The company copies the ‘negative’ content and posts it “on the fake ‘news’ site, attributing it to a separate author,” then gives it “a false publication date on the ‘news’ website that predated the original publication.

The reputation company then sent Google a Digital Millennium Copyright Act notice claiming the original website infringed copyright. After a cursory examination of the fake news site, Google frequently accepts the notice and delists the content.

In committing numerous offences, Jordi Greenham Asensio either premeditated actions or were unaware of the consequences. Despite hiring an agency to make Google disregard any negative information about Jordi Greenham Asensio, ignorance does not excuse this wrongdoing.

FSMSmart is certainly keeping interesting company here.

The Reputation Laundering

Rogue Reputation agencies use spurious copyright claims and fake legal notices to remove and obscure articles linking clients to allegations of tax avoidance, corruption, and drug trafficking. Most of these reputation agencies are based offshore, mainly in Russia, India, and Eastern Europe, and they do not worry about complying with US-based laws.

The content in all of the articles for which the fraudulent DMCA notices have been sent relates to allegations of criminal allegations, including corruption, child abuse, sexual harassment, human trafficking and financial fraud against businesses and individuals with ultra-high net worth.

In addition to the misuse of the DMCA takedown process, there is a notable absence of enforcement concerning perjury violations. The statutory requirement related to perjury is designed to deter copyright holders from submitting fraudulent or knowingly false takedown requests, as they may face legal consequences for making false declarations under penalty of perjury. However, to date, there have been no known instances of any individual being prosecuted for perjury in connection with the submission of false DMCA takedown notices.

This lack of enforcement has emboldened copyright holders to exploit the DMCA takedown process to suppress dissent, criticism, or other unfavorable content, without fear of legal repercussions.

Some of the people and businesses who have employed this tactic to remove legitimate content from Google illegally include a Spanish businessman-turned-cocaine-trafficker, Organised crime, an Israeli-Argentine banker accused of laundering money for Hugo Chávez’s regime, a French “responsible” mining company accused of tax evasion, child molesters and sexual predators. Jordi Greenham Asensio is in great company ….

    • Our investigative report on Jordi Greenham Asensio‘s efforts to suppress online speech is significant, as it raises serious concerns about its integrity. The findings suggest that Jordi Greenham Asensio has engaged in questionable practices, including potential perjury, impersonation, and fraud, in a misguided attempt to manage or salvage its reputation.
